On April 9, 2026, a startup project competition themed «Development of Tourism in Kazakhstan» was organized for IUTH students as part of «Science Week».
The main goal of the competition was to develop the professional competencies necessary for students to independently conduct research and practical activities in tourism, hospitality, and service, as well as to foster innovative thinking and support modern project initiatives.
During the event, 8 students presented and defended their innovative startup projects before an expert commission. Participants showcased fresh ideas focused on digital technologies, artificial intelligence, sustainable development, and «smart» infrastructure aimed at advancing the tourism industry.
Based on the commission’s decision, the following winners were announced:
1st Place — Aitjanov Dias
Project Title: «Turkistan Immersive Boutique»
Scientific Advisor: Tagmanov U.S., PhD, Senior Lecturer at the School of Tourism.
2nd Place — Ziyaddinov Salavat
Project Title: «AI Travel Guide KZ»
Scientific Advisor: Saparbekova G.A., Master, Senior Lecturer at the School of Humanities.
3rd Place — Kestebek Zangar
Project Title: «Smart Solar Glass: Implementing Transparent Photovoltaic Technologies in the Façade Systems of Tourism and Hospitality Facilities in the Republic of Kazakhstan»
Scientific Advisor: Mustafayeva B.U., Acting Associate Professor, PhD at the School of Hospitality.
The competition served as an important platform for enhancing students’ scientific potential, developing a startup culture, and supporting innovative projects within the tourism sector.
