
The university hosted an event titled “Religious Extremism and Terrorism – A Threat to Public Security”, organized by Togizbayev Daulet Azilkhanovich, Senior Lecturer at the School of Languages.
The main objective of the event was to foster among young people and the wider community a strong worldview resistant to religious extremism and terrorism, to prevent the spread of radical ideologies, and to enhance religious literacy.
The event brought together representatives of law enforcement agencies and a theologian, who elaborated on the nature and characteristics of religious extremism, analyzed the harmful effects of destructive movements on society, discussed issues of legal responsibility, and emphasized the importance of harmony between religion and national traditions.
Speakers included:
* Azizkhan Abubakirovich Saparov – Anti-Terrorism Center Officer, Department of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Turkistan Region;
* Ermek Muratbekovich Sarsenbayev – Senior Operative Officer, Department for Countering Extremism, Turkistan Regional Police Department;
* Sayatzhan Bakytzhanovich Makhanbetov – Theologian, State Institution “Center for the Study of Religious Issues,” Department for Religious Affairs of Turkistan Region.
The event was held in the format of an educational discussion, including the screening of informational videos and an open dialogue with participants.
