Scientific Seminar “Concept for Revitalizing the National Values of Yassawi Culture: Pilgrimage and Tourism”

On November 11, 2025, within the framework of the grant-funded project AP23490104 “Study of the Information Potential of Religious Tourism Sites in the Turkestan Region: Development of a Multimedia Interactive Atlas in Four Languages,” a scientific seminar entitled “Concept for Revitalizing the National Values of Yassawi Culture: Pilgrimage and Tourism” was held.

During the seminar, Candidate of Geographical Sciences and Yassawi studies scholar Zhandarbek Z.Z. delivered a substantive presentation on “Cultural and Spiritual Continuity of Sacred Sites in the Turkestan Region.” PhD, Associate Professor Sizdikov B. presented a report titled “The Past, Present, and Future of the City of Turkestan (Based on Historical and Archaeological Data).”

The event featured comprehensive discussions of scholarly data and research related to historical and cultural monuments within Turkestan’s spiritual and cultural landscape. Participants exchanged views on the region’s rich spiritual heritage and cultural identity, addressing a range of topical issues from an academic perspective.
