Digitalization Department

The purpose of the Department is to reliably ensure the functioning and uninterrupted operation of software installed on computers, as well as to promote the efficiency of the educational process and the activities of the structural units of the University through the use of information technologies, information systems, as well as the introduction of software to improve the quality of work of the structural units of the University.

The Department’s activities are carried out in 5 main directions:

• ensuring the smooth functioning of the software and hardware complex;
• ensuring the required level of information security;
• providing information and technical support for software and computer equipment;
• technical support of corporate mail and websites;
• making proposals on the organization of the introduction and improvement of automated systems, support for the introduction of new technologies, development of resource support.

• carrying out technical work for the smooth functioning of servers;
• carrying out technical work for the smooth functioning of communication systems (Internet gateways, network switches, wireless access points, hubs and modems);
• registration of users, assignment of identifiers and passwords in the access control system;
  technical support of the automated information system “Platonus”;
• registration of users, assignment of identifiers, rights and passwords in the electronic document management system “Documentolog”;
• installation and configuration of antivirus protection software, up-to-date maintenance of antivirus databases;
  configuring gateways, ports, VLANs, and IP addresses into separate groups to restrict access;
• copying and reserving databases;
• analysis of new types of viruses and a strategy for updating antivirus measures to ensure protection;
• installation and configuration of workstations, printers and peripheral equipment;
• installation and configuration of server stations, deployment of AIS, SED, 1C databases, corporate mail and websites;
• installing and configuring software, operating systems and drivers;
• technical and informational support of employees, teachers and students on working with software and hardware;
• technical support during the examination sessions;
• user registration, assignment of corporate mail IDs and passwords for employees, teachers and students (login password);
• technical support of 5 corporate websites (www.iuth.edu.kz , www.talapker.iuth.edu.kz , www.reg.iuth.edu.kz , www.journal.iuth.edu.kz , www.help.iuth.edu .kz);
• providing cross-platform cross-browser properties and responsive behavior of web resource elements,  optimizing a web resource to work on mobile devices, developing a web resource database;
• search for hardware and software for automation, optimization of technical and human resources of the University.
